How Wedding Planner can help with Your Wedding

Few days ago I had a chance to speak with London and Destination Wedding Planner Katrien Morgan. She is the owner of South Event Specialists and we met thru zoom online tool to discuss very popular subject of ‘How to plan a wedding during covid19 pandemic’ and how wedding planner could help and make this day even more special. Please get a large cup of coffee (or large glass of wine – Katrien will recommend you some lovely wines later on) and hit play. Prepare for good conversation and maybe a little of laughter.

Interview with London and Destination Wedding Planner

Q: Planning a Wedding during covid19 pandemic

K: I can tell you it is a challenge. Now funny enough you see a lot of people are starting to plan a wedding, most people has some spare time in their hands, you’ve got a lot of couples are looking at 2021 weddings, a lot of venues are potentially looking to open their 2022 wedding calendars. And a lot is happening around postponing weddings. Obviously couples that are affected during this wedding season both in UK or South Africa depending on where your wedding is – I specialize in Destination Weddings in South Africa, but I do UK weddings as well.

The key at the moment is just to keeping up in mind to be flexible, work around plan ‘B’ and maybe a plan ‘C’ as well, chat to all the suppliers, so great communication and make sure you find something that works for everybody. If is doesn’t work for everybody, you need to go and prioritize what is the most important for you and build that plan ‘B’ wedding around that. So it is a bit of a challenge and it is juggling a bit more logistical issues than normally, but I think everyone is open minded and all the wedding suppliers I work with really trying and accommodate couple the best they can. We are all about making couples have the best time they possibly can at their wedding and giving them memories they could cherish for the rest of their lives. Just as any other season during this pandemic we try to do really the same.

As a London Wedding Photographers we cover Asian Weddings as well. Even though we are not Asians, we are often ask for advice and information; knowing that as we shoot Weddings from Culture’s and Religion’s different to our own. After having to have done this many times, it made sense to write about aspects of Asian Weddings and Asian Wedding Photography.

HIT PLAY FOR "JAGO AYIYA"

Let's talk about Jago!

We grew up in Poland and spent half of adult life here in UK. That's when we first time had a chance to know some basics about Asian culture.  When we arrived to London, we had a chance to work with people from all over the world.  Because both of us love to travel, we are so curious of other cultures and traditions.  That's how we had a chance to drink first Indian tea or try homemade chicken curry.  It has been many years now and we keep in touch with our beloved friends, whose roots are from India. Every time we go to visit them, we have a chance to talk about present situation and history of their country as well to taste great Indian food. Yes, Anisha & Rosh we are talking about You! So cool that Birmingham is not that far to drive. We had a pleasure to host them on our Polish Christmas this year and they loved it! We had a great fun! So, we learnt the culture from people really.

Then came our first Asian wedding, so we learnt more about religion and traditions.  Some of them are surprisingly like ours. Asian weddings is a topic which we could endlessly write about but today we wanted to bring closer a tradition which happens before the wedding itself. How we were wrong thinking that Jago is only for women side of the family, until some time ago we were asked to photograph Parminder's Jago at Horizons Bar. So let me tell you few things about Jago:

Often meaning “staying awake”, the Jago ritual involves the relatives of the groom and bride, in their respective abodes, to stay up all night. The idea is to celebrate the wedding and make merry by dancing and partying. The aunt of the bride and groom takes an earthen pot (Jago) filled with candles (lights), places it on her head and dances. The pot is further passed on to other family members and friends as well.

Knowing the little information about Jago makes it all so clear, why this is one of the happiest parties ever. On the top of that the lights and colors make that party even more exciting.  We so love the music and heated dance which comes with that. No wonder our bodies straight away join the family and friends on the dance floor. Mixed up with dancing guests is a great tip to get the best shots as well!

Relaxed and Happy Wedding Photographers

Relaxed and Happy Wedding Photographers

Relaxed and Happy Wedding Photographers

Hello, as you already know we are Karolina and Zibi - London Wedding Photographers - who love weddings and tell stories thru series of pictures. We would like to tell you here why we love it so much and what is the reason, we prefer to keep it natural.

WHY WE LOVE KEEPING IT REAL

All weddings come in all shapes and sizes, they all different, but there is few things which are very similar - wedding is a day, planned to the last minute, filled with emotions, laughter and unexpected events. By keeping it natural we keep the vibe and feel of the day so carefully planned by bride and groom. By letting the day unfold in front of us, we can witness and capture everything as it is, instead of creating something, what never ever happened. That's why our clients always say 'we haven't even felt, that you have been there' or 'how have you managed to captured that'. Just check our 'testimonials' section for that.

Every couple have to remember, that wedding day is all about them and while they design and organise everything it is THE BEST way to keep it that way. And there is few reasons we can point out:

YOU WANT TO BE RELAXED.

This is one of the most important days of your life. Or at least one of the most important so far. After planning your wedding for years you want it to be perfect. You don't want to have around you people who will stress or rush you all day long.

YOU WANT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS TO LOOK GOOD.

We think the best photography is natural and candid. Of course you want to have all the important group shots and a couple shoot, but once everything goes well and everyone having loads of fun your photographs will look amazing.

YOU WANT YOUR GUESTS TO BE RELAXED.

Yes, that's right. You want everyone to feel good, be relaxed and have fun. This is the way you have planned this day. Sound simple and trust us, it is very simple. Just let them have fun. Don't worry, we will let them be relaxed.

WE WANT TO BE RELAXED.

Yes, sounds weird, right? We are at work. Yes, we love weddings and we just adore to spend time with the people madly in love. And we work way better once we are relaxed. That's why we think that it is the best job in the world.

And yes, we will keep you relaxed even during formal parts of the wedding, like ceremony - we will not interfere with any important moment at all. Formal group shots we like to do quickly and efficiently allowing your guests to enjoy that part as well.

WHAT WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?

Well, everything on your day is a part of your story. Delay? That's fine. It is a wedding and you are the bride. Everyone will wait for you, don't worry. Flat tyre? We will have absolutely brilliant pictures and you will have amazing story to tell your kids. Rain on your wedding day? Don't worry, we are prepared.

In the end of the day, while all the cakes will be eaten, all bottles will be empty and all guests are gone, the only thing you will be left with, will be your photographs. So, we want to capture for you those powerful moments and perfect memories on your joyful day.

Heston Hyde Hotel Indian Wedding

Heston Hyde Hotel Indian Wedding

Heston Hyde Hotel Indian Wedding

Heston Hyde Hotel located near Heathrow Airport is an amazing location to host Indian wedding reception. Hardip and Pavinir chose this venue to celebrate their Big Day with family and friends. We had an amazing time to photograph this wedding and reception, what you can see at the pictures below.

Our day started at Hounslow Gurdwara were both families gathered together to witness Sikh wedding ceremony. As a London wedding photographers we have witnessed many wedding ceremonies in Gurdwaras all over London, Midlands and beyond. All of them have very similar structure, but because hosted in different Gurdwaras, every and each of them have different character and beauty. Every time it is a new experience and great time for us. We love those colors - just have a look at the pictures, simply can't beat the colors. And the fact, that wedding are celebrations of not only two people, but TWO FAMILIES becoming ONE. It is priceless.

Sikh wedding reception at Heston Hyde Hotel was as expected - grand, busy, happy and absolutely crazy. Yes, every time when we attend Indian wedding, we know that there is no place to rest. We love Punjabi music - here we have an amazing Punjabi Artist Miss Pooja who put on show on stage. Absolutely fantastic. The dance floor was full all night. And when we say all night we mean ALL NIGHT LONG! We were not surprised with such a entertainment.

OUR TOP 10 PRE WEDDING SHOOT LOCATIONS IN LONDON

(UPDATED FOR 2020)

Streets of London

Engagement photos at London streets can be one of the best plan. You can have iconic backgrounds, hidden gems and beautiful lighting. Only you and your imagination is the limit. Best to conclude the engagement shoot early morning - sunrise shoot, or just before sunset. We love streets of London. Every shoot always gives us new ideas. Please check Notting Hill engagement shoot here.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden engagement is what we love. The most touristic and the busiest spot in the whole London. But this what UK capital is. And just take a quick look in the small side streets. Aren't they beautiful? We just simply adore them.

Tower Bridge

Well, who doesn't know Tower Bridge? This iconic landmark and the area around is so quiet in the early mornings. We have been there so many times with the people in love. This is one of the best spots to capture beautiful sunrise if you are early persons. You can't go wrong here. It is amazing spot for a walk, for any kind of photos. This is our favorite spot to start engagement photos in London.

The South Bank

South Bank of River Thames is extremely picturesque. All sort of backgrounds, landmarks, view of The City and of course iconic River Thames. This spot is great at sunrise, during the day and just before sunset. Check those fairy lights. We love that part of London.

Embankment

Very accessible part of the town. Most likely will be busy with lots of commuters rushing to work. But don't worry, just Enjoy. Like we do.

Richmond Park

We LOVE London Royal Parks. We really do. Our favorites are St.James Park and Regents Park, but the closest to our hearts we always keep Richmond Park. This park is very special. Great for morning coffee, for any type of walk and of course for an Engagement shoot. Every time we have a chance to visit Richmond Park we find it a little different. The light, the trees and leaves and of course magical deers. All that ingredients make this park different than any other. Check our Richmond Park Engagement Shoot and see why we love it so much.

Hampstead Pergola Garden

North London with Hampstead and Pergola Garden could give totally different look to your shoot. It is perfect location, normally quite busy, especially on weekends. And one more tip: it is amazing location for a wedding - WOOHOO. Yes. If you love it, just say 'yes' here.

Canary Wharf

Financial district of London gives absolutely funky vibe into any shoot. If you love this part of the city (as us) try to come here early in the morning. During the day is crazy busy. But still worth to come and enjoy. And don't worry about the security present everywhere. They are really nice.

Westminster Bridge and London Eye

I think we don't need to say any more. Westminster and surrounding areas are the most popular for any engagement and wedding shoot. Couples coming here from all over the world to have their pictures taken. Prepare this areas to be busy. Or wake up very early like we do. Would you get up at 'crazy o'clock' to have your dream pictures taken?

Millennium Bridge and St. Paul's

This is one of our favorites spots at entire River Thames area. We have been here at early mornings, we have been here at late nights. And always the couples where amazed, how cool are those iconic spots in London.

    Hello dear readers.

Have you ever attend a wedding, which started on one day and finished the following day? Well, all east European weddings lasts long, way over the midnight. But not on this day. This was the longest and most colorful wedding we capture. And so much fun!

Wedding day of Dip and Chandni started very early in the morning, at 5am. Getting ready traditionally at their family homes in London. Capturing getting ready is always lots of fun, as we love that morning rush. And just see how stunning Chandni looked. To be able to manage everything, you just need to get up early. Dip's Sikh groom's attire was impressive as well.

    Gravesend Gurdwara

Gravesend Gurdwara is the largest and grandest Gurdwara in the whole Europe. They have chosen this venue to get married and that was amazing choice. We have been very lucky with a weather. As a London wedding photographers we know, that you can plan anything, but not a weather at a wedding day.

Straight after the wedding ceremony Dip went for a clean shave and Chandni to get ready for a wedding reception. And what a reception it was. Held at Natural History Museum in Central London wedding reception was exceptional. Dance next to the ancient dinosaurs was so surprising and in the same time was just awesome. For us to be able to capture such a grand and unusual wedding for an amazing experience. And we want more.

Our Asian Wedding Photography took us to many amazing places. We covered weddings at castles, great ballrooms and Formula 1 tracks. But to be able to come to our favorite museum in Central London and stay there for an amazing party until early morning was just exceptional.

Let us know if you like the images below. We would love to hear your story.
